Talisman was founded by Ken Bolan in 1982, and is a store that offers a large selection of antiques from the 18th to 20th centuries. The shop occupies three floors in an impressive Art Deco building on the New King’s Road.
As a temple devoted to interior design, Talisman combines unusual antique objects such as those made from 18th century Coade stone, made famous by Eleanor Coade, and magnificent Victorian lighting, as well as contemporary sculptures such as a bronze table by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne (a father and son team who made furniture and ornaments between 1950 and 1970).
Works by major 20th century artists are also on display, as Paul Evans, Karl Springer, Tommi Parzinger and Pierre Cardin.
