La Tour d’Argent, the one Michelin starred restaurant, is one of the oldest gastronomic restaurants in Europe. Gifted with unequalled charm and unforgettable view of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, it serves traditional French cuisine using seasonal products.
In 1582, the great chef Rourteau opened his Renaissance inn that he called the Hostellerie la Tour d’Argent. The inn received King Henri III, and then Henri IV and it was at La Tour d’Argent that the fork first made its appearance in France. Ever since, the restaurant has been visited by many famous people.
One of the specialities of La Tour d’Argent is the legendary pressed Challans duck, on the menu since 1890. The restaurant also has one of the finest wine cellars in the city.
