Run by chef Masato Shimizu, the Japanese restaurant 15 East is a beautiful and gourmet jewel that is really worth visiting.
15 East has been entirely refurbished by the architect Richard Bloch, who divided the space into two: a sushi bar and a restaurant. On its menu, 15 East offers foie gras in a creamy custard sauce, mushrooms and black truffles or beef tartare with daïkon (Japanese white or black radish), quails eggs in gochujang (spicy Korean condiment), honey and pine kernels. You should note however that the dishes change regularly according to seasonal availability. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet, the décor is smart and the service is impeccable and punctual. In 2014, the restaurant was chosen as one of the Michelin guide’s best in New York and in 2015 it was OpenTable’s best restaurant.
