The Villette park is a must for those who love long walks in wide green spaces; it was built on the site of the former Paris abattoirs. This large park combines nature, architecture, leisure areas, concert and exhibition spaces.
At the Villette park one finds the Great Hall, the Cité de la Musique, the Conservatory, the Paris-Villette Theatre, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Geode, the Zenith, the Trabendo, the Cabaret Sauvage, the equestrian center and more recently the Philharmonic of Paris. The Cité de la Musique includes an amphitheater, a concert hall which can hold up to 1,500 spectators, art exhibitions and a workshop. The Geode, the only one of its kind, is a movie theater with unique architecture, hemispherical screens among the largest in the world coupled with a sound system with incredible power. There’s really no other way to see the adrenaline fueled blockbusters.
