In the very smart 16th arrondissement in Paris, the Trocadéro neighbourhood is located on Chaillot Hill. It includes the Passy and Auteuil districts, as well as the La Muette neighbourhood.
From the Trocadero esplanade that separates the two wings of the Chaillot Palace, you have a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower and the gardens of the Champ de Mars. The Chaillot Palace houses the Museum of Man, the Maritime Museum and the Chaillot National Theatre. It is interesting to take a tour of the novelist Balzac’s house and the Clemenceau Museum where those two famous people lived.
Also worth seeing: the Palais de Tokyo which houses the Museum of Modern Art for contemporary and modern art; the Guimet Museum, for oriental art; the Palais Galliera, for fashion; the Marmottan Monet Museum, for wonderful Impressionist paintings; Passy Cemetery, where Debussy and Monet are buried.
